Jeff Zuidema “Nuts and Bolts”

Carrie and Nathan wanted to do a season long feature on Jeff Zuidema and as we all know how racin’ goes they ran out of time.  I of
course being a glutton for punishment volunteered to take it on.  It is getting late in the season but I see this as an opportunity for fodder
in the winter when things get slow too.  I figure since I’ve been hiding in my own “Pit” for a couple of weeks we’ll start simple with all those
cheesy easy questions or as I like to call them, “Nuts and Bolts.”

Born on Date (Cause we know you like Bud):  September 22, 1962.  He’s 43.
Place to call Home: North Brookfield, Massachusetts.
People of importance to Jeff: (AKA Spouse/children): Wife-Jennifer, Daughter- Shelby (15), I'm not sure if she’ll make it to 16 – she’s just
like me! Son- Ben(11)
Day Job: Service Manager at Tri State Toyota Dodge in Dudley, Massachusetts.
Years in the Hot Seat: 23
Cars he Drives: (Track) Pro Stock #19 at Thompson, Late Model #37 at Thompson, Outlaw Pro #42 at Monadnock, and Pro Four
Modified # 1M.
(Street) He can pretty much take whatever demo car he’d like at work.  His wife drives a Toyota Prius, and they have a 1972 Super Beetle!
Tracks you’ve run at: Holland, Velusa, Star, Hudson, Monadnock, Thompson, Safford, Lee, Twin State Speedway, Canaan, Beech Ridge,
Unity, Oxford, Riverside Park, Seekonk, Pocono, Watkins Glen, Loudon, Wiscassett, White Mountain, Westboro, Spencer Speedway
(Apple Valley at the time), Waterford, and others!  He gets around.
Racing accomplishments: Over sixty races a year for the past four years, 111 Wins, Three Track Championships, and Meeting a lot of
great people.
Most Challenging car to drive and why: Thompson Late Model, because I jump from car to car a lot.  At Thompson, the Late Model is the
heaviest and has the least amount of traction; sometimes I think I’m still driving the Pro Stock.
Best looking car you ever drove: Dennis Gagliardis Pro-4 It’s spotless.
Most Challenging Track and why: Seekonk Speedway, because you need patience there and sometimes I lack that, Monadnocks pretty
challenging too because of the different ends.
Pre Race Rituals: Telling my competitors to “have fun.”
Where/What would you still like to race? Before I retire (soon?)  I wanna drive a midget, and I’d like to race another road course, that’s the
most fun I ever had.
The Corny Favorites!
Race Car to Drive and why: Pro-4, because it’s like a big Go Kart.
Driver and Why: He likes them all cause they do what he does.
Track and Why: Thompson because that’s where he started and he’s probably won the most races there.
Music/Band: The Beatles
Movie: Patten
Actor: Russell Crowe
Actress: Madeline Stowe
Color: Green
TV Show: M*A*S*H
